Our wonderful Serene resident artist, Brian, has kindly shared his knowledge and skill to put together an easy-to-follow, step-by-step guide to creating beautiful sketched portraits. Take this opportunity to give it a try, and you may just realise you had a hidden talent you never knew about!
Brian has listed out his hints and tips for drawing facial features in the right place and to the correct ratio. As faces come in all shapes and sizes, they can look completely different, however as each face is formed around a ‘skull’, these are reasonably uniform in shape and therefore can be quite simple to add to, provided you follow some basic rules.
WARNING: All guide lines should be drawn very lightly as most will need to be rubbed out when the face is completed. Please read through Brian’s directions and diagrams for more information:
