Serene Living Private Art Collection Features in International Gallery Exhibition
Serene Living is proud to announce their beautiful foyer showpiece ‘Eddy Avenue East’ (2001-02), a gorgeous oil on canvas, on board creation, is currently on loan for display at “Destination Sydney: re-imagined” – the second exhibition in a series of collaborations between three Sydney public galleries – Manly Art Gallery and Museum, Mosman Art Gallery and the S.H. Ervin Gallery.
“Drawn to Paint” – Nicholas Harding
Curated by Steven Alderton, Serene Living’s masterpiece, forms a critical component of the exhibition within “Nicholas Harding: Drawn to Paint”, encompassing 25 years of artistic works between 1984 to 2009, which showcase iconic Sydney landscapes from urban streets to coastal horizons and portraits of detail and character.
“The Man, The Art”
Nicholas Harding, a celebrated Australian artist who won the Archibald Prize in 2001 with a portrait of John Bell as King Lear, is renowned within the art community for his method of painting with a trowel and his fingers, slathering paint on a canvas and scraping it back, resulting in a unique texture and depth of colour to his creations.
Born in London in 1955, Nicholas Harding migrated to Australia with his family in 1965 where he studied his Bachelor of Arts in 1975 before travelling abroad. Over the years, Mr Harding has been nominated for and won a multitude of prestigious art awards and exhibited his collections at a number of national and international galleries.
